Recent Department News
04/01 - New Apparatus Numbers to Be Effective on May 1
The Jackson County Fire Council have recently voted to change the apparatus id numbers of all apparatus located in Jackson County. JCCFD was awarded Engine 11, Tanker 15 and Ladder 19, changing them from Central Engine 1, Central Tanker 1, and Central Ladder 1. More information on the new numbering system can be found on the apparatus page.
12/15 - JCCFD Receives Fire Prevention Grant from FM Global
The Jackson County Central Fire Department has been awarded $1,000.00 for a new Laptop Computer to be mounted in the cab of Engine 1. To view the grant award page, click here.
12/14 - JCCFD 2009 Fundraiser's Scheduled
The Jackson County Central Fire Department has set it's 2009 Fundraiser Schedule. The fundraisers include a ROOK Card Tournament on January 3, a fireworks booth to begin on June 20, and the 2nd Annual Central Fire Dept Carnival to begin on July 14. 11/14 - JCCFD Is Awarded AFG Grant
On November 14, the Jackson County Central Fire Department was awarded $111,174.00 to purchase new Turnout Gear, SCBA, and a Thermal Imaging Camera. The grant money will purchase the Department new turnout gear and scba's to replace the current equipment the Department has that is 8 years old and is out of compliance. The money will also be used to purchase a Thermal Imaging Camera, the first of it's kind at the Jackson County Central Fire Department.
09/01 - JCCFD Online Store Now Open

08/03 - JCCFD 1st Annual Carnival a Success
On Saturday, August 2, JCCFD wrapped up its 1st Annual Central Fire Department Carnival in Gainesboro. Wayne's Rides out of Dickson TN provided the rides for the carnival, and the Jackson County Central Fire Department had great success with the 1st annual event and look forward to the 2nd annual event next year.
04/10 - JCCFD Puts L-1 Into Complete Service
On Thursday, April 10, JCCFD placed Ladder 1 into Full Service. Up to this date, L-1 has had a cable that controls the ladder extension broke. The truck was repaired by Rush Truck Center in Smyrna TN and a complete ladder service was performed. Up-Dated pictures of the apparatus will be placed on this web-site when available.
03/03 - JCCFD Places new Tanker 1 into service
On Monday, March 3, JCCFD placed the new Central Tanker 1 into service. More information and pictures will be available soon on the Stations and Apparatus page.
02/10 - JCCFD Tanker 1 catches fire
At approx 16:30 hours on Sunday, Feb 10. Central Tanker 1 was doing a routine drive to fill up with water after being put back in service and while at the hydrant, caught on fire, burning 70% of the front of the truck. The fire was believed to have started under the dashboard of the apparatus and was believed to be caused by wiring problems. JCCFD is awaiting word from the insurance company on the result of the fire. See pictures of the apparatus here.
